Farley Farmers

Julie Plotkin

I am honored to join the community of farmers at The Farley Center and to grow flowers on this beautiful land. Before moving to Dane County in 2005, I attended Michael Fields Agricultural Institute in East Troy, WI where I learned the ins and outs of growing organic and biodynamic produce. Since then I’ve worked on a few organic farms in the area, until 2021 when I was invited to follow my heart and grow flowers at Winterfell Acres, and launch Root to Bloom, a cut flower community supported agriculture (CSA) business.

I live with a teenage daughter who teaches me a ton about how to show up in the world. I also work at a local restaurant as a prep cook turned kitchen administrator, as well as sporadically teach people how to drive.

I am interested in creating more beauty in our world through flowers, relationships and creativity. I am in the phase of growing my business, which is exciting and terrifying! In addition to a CSA, I sell to local restaurants and businesses, as well as a local farmers market. Please let me know how I can fulfill your delicious, local and organic flower needs!
