Hi! My name is Katie. By day I’m a fourth year farm worker at Lovefood Farm, and by the rest of the day I am a first year farmer here at the Farley Center where I operate my business Sunshine Salad Farm. Sunshine Salad Farm is a food vending service, where I provide freshly prepared salads, wraps and grain bowls that feature produce that I grow on the farm. Over the years I have gotten to experience first-hand how good it feels to enjoy fresh, organic produce, and to have a connection to where my food comes from. Wanting to share that with others, I designed my business so that I could bring fresh and tasty food to some of my favorite places - festivals and events!

I grow several varieties of lettuce and greens throughout the season, as well as salad toppings such as cherry tomatoes, cucumbers,herbs and more. In addition to selling prepared foods at events, I also sell produce directly at the Verona Downtown Farmers Market.

Having access to shared growing space and equipment at the Farley Center has made it possible for me to pursue my dreams of starting my own organic farm business. It is inspiring to work alongside other farmers and to have the support of the Farley Center Staff. I am very grateful to be a Farley Center and to be a part of this community!
