Amy Barrilleaux was born in Bunkie, Louisiana, but has lived all over the country, from the deep south to the west coast to Appalachia and the Midwest. She’s made Madison her home for the last nine years. And although she grew up helping pick okra, eggplant, peppers and tomatoes from the backyard garden, it’s in Wisconsin that she first understood the importance of local, sustainable farming and land practices.

Amy spent most of her career as a television and print journalist and is currently working in media relations and marketing. She has been thrilled to help support the Farley Center’s critical mission connecting environmental sustainability with peace and social justice.
