Meier’s professional career has followed many paths, including teaching, farming and practicing law. She spent five years in the Peace Corps in Colombia (1963-1966) and Ecuador (2002-2004). She also spent 12 years at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection as an advocate for Wisconsin farmers.
