2019 Earth Dance Artist

Karen Reppen

Orb weaver

When I stepped into the music of Earth Dance, I had no clue what might emerge as a finished piece. It began only with a feeling about a place on the land that caught my eye, and invited me to stop, ponder, and play. I made no plans, had no vision of what might result—just let myself respond to ideas that emerged over time as visited the site. Over the past year, I started learning how to weave—mostly simple bands on an Inkle Loom. You’ll see some of that influence here along with hints of the time I spend watching garden spiders spin their webs.
