The Rain Fell and All I Could do Was Watch.
For Katherine and Brian

My work is an aleatory experience. I draw from the materials around me and construct something new. The piece is very reliant on what is available at the time and what is happening in my life. Thoughts and actions that are different each day feed in to creative process. Chris Hindle

Bio
My name is Christopher Hindle. I am a Midwesterner to the core. In my younger days I spent most of my time outdoors year round in and around the Mississippi River. Some of the many activities were sailing, skiing, hunting, and exploring the backwaters and bluffs.

I received my MA and MFA from University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have been a visual artist producing work for over 30 years. I paint, print, and draw, but my emphasis is sculpture. My primary choice of media is material found in nature, or repurposed material. My favorite way to work is to be on site and work out a concept based on the materials at hand. These pieces are meant to be temporary. Minimal, if any, mechanical fasteners, or non-biodegradable components are used with the intent that the artwork will decay over time and leave little to no evidence of its ever having been there. It is about the temporal nature of things. What do we place value in?
