Gitchee-Goomee Nest

Having visited the shores of Lake Superior several summers, I did a small dedication to Lake Superior. This piece comprises a nest, holding lake stones from Little Girl’s Point, and amethyst from Thunder Bay, Ontario. I added an agate in honor of my mother, who also loved visiting areas around Lake Superior.

Working with metal, beads, wood and paint, Sue’s art is influenced by the natural world, by found objects and by industrial landscapes. Recycling is very important to her and she works with used items whenever possible.
